Colorado State University Ram Rugby Recruiting Brochure Link: CSU_Ram_Rugby_Recruiting_Brochure_5small.pdf Colorado State Ram Rugby has been recruiting hard again for another season to help our team and keep players in the game. Most of our team is made up of experienced high school players direct from your teams. We are looking for dedicated student athletes that want to work hard and have fun in the pursuit of academic and athletic excellence. We have to offer a top 25 level program, a top 15% academic institution, in a beautiful area, Fort Collins, CO that Money Magazine ranked the #1 place to live. We do not offer rugby scholarships Ram Rugby Instructions for Optimal Application, I know finances are hard for most right now and college is expensive so below are my suggestions for things to do to fund your education and gain acceptance to Colorado State University. If you haven’t done so yet enter your full contact info in at our website www.ramrugby.com. http://www.ramrugby.com/Recruiting/RecruitsInformation/tabid/84/Default.aspx My number one advice is to apply early to school, financial aid and scholarships in the summer after your junior year of high school, but better late than never. The rugby team itself doesn't offer any scholarship although there are many sources to get scholarships and financial aid and most of them just require leg work to fill out all the applications. As a philosophy our team is working to fund the program to limit cost prior to giving any one player a scholarship, because like most sports we are a pay to play team and dues are around $200 per semester, $100 onetime cost for team gear and $100 for travel. Application The priority deadline for incoming freshman is Feb 1st and in general the earlier you apply the better. http://admissions.colostate.edu/ Freshman Admission Standards -http://admissions.colostate.edu/FutureFreshmen/AdmissionStandards.aspx Transfer students priority application deadline is Dec 1st for the spring semester and June 1st for the fall semester. Transfers are given priority if they have 2.5 cumulative GPA and 24 credits although transfers with 13-24 credits will be considered including high school records. Financial Aid The number one place to go is CSU admissions and filling out the FAFSA national form with the FAFSA priority deadline March 1st complete online at www.fafsa.gov. You need to apply for financial aid whether you are rich or poor to get grants, loans and work study jobs. http://admissions.colostate.edu/PayingForCollege/ http://sfs.colostate.edu/applyingforfinancialaid/index.aspx Scholarships It is suggested that you declare a major so that you are considered for college specific scholarships along with the University wide scholarships. The CSUSA will be available online on your RAMweb beginning December 1. The deadline is March 1 at 11 p.m. (MST). Go to RAMweb at ramweb.colostate.edu and log in using your eID. Then select the CSU Scholarship Application link. http://admissions.colostate.edu/PayingForCollege/Scholarship.aspx http://sfs.colostate.edu/scholarships/index.aspx Western Undergraduate Exchange WUE – Scholarship Available to out of state students from state’s in the following list with high grades and test scores, scholarship of 150% in state tuition or approximately $10,500 savings scholarship over out of state tuition. http://admissions.colostate.edu/FutureFreshmen/WUE.aspx |
