In pursuit of this, we have recruited excellent experienced coaches at Under-19, U17, U15, U13, and Mini's (ages 5 to 8), secured sponsorship, secured playing fields and as of 2006 formalized our club to 501c3 status. We work very closely with the Texas Rugby Union and USA Rugby to foster strong bonds between our organizations and provide the very best opportunities for our young players to fully experience the great game of rugby at all levels.
With the potential return of rugby as an Olympic sport in 2016, Katy Rugby Club is determined to ensure that the next USA Olympic Rugby squad includes players from Katy, Houston & Texas. As USA is the defending Olympic rugby champions (1920 & 1924), we are committed to do our part to foster the skills necessary in today's youth movement to ensure that the talent pool is ready for the USA to defend its record.
We practice and play in Katy but invite and give the warmest of welcomes to anyone from all over Houston.
